Nextie Fat Bike carbon rim
The Nextie Fat Bike is a full carbon fiber rim for fat biking on 3.8 to 5in tires, where a carbon rim saves the most weight of any wheel part. Nextie designs and molds the rim; ProWheelBuilder is an independent wheel builder in Georgia, not the manufacturer. We build the rim into a complete wheel: pick the hub, spokes, nipples and lacing in the configurator and it ships laced, tensioned and trued.

12 sizes in 24in-29in. Rim weights are Nextie's published figures per size; ERD is the effective rim diameter we cut spokes to.

What the designations mean
Every size in the list carries Nextie's own series code so you can tell the profiles apart. Here is what they mean.
| Supreme | Nextie's lightest layup - the least material that still meets the rim's strength target. Choose it when grams matter most. |

Material and construction
Every size is molded from carbon fiber in Nextie's Xiamen factory, in a UD (unidirectional) weave with a matte finish. The rim bed is tubeless-ready, and a Nextie Fat Bike rim is stiffer laterally than an aluminum rim of the same weight, which is what makes a light carbon wheel feel precise under power. Nextie rates these sizes for a maximum system weight of 134 kg; 140 kg; 146 kg; 157 kg; 160 kg; 177 kg; 185 kg; 200 kg; 250 kg; 300 kg (rider plus bike and gear).
Weight
Weights run from 395g for the 55MM WIDE XIPHIAS 55 (49MM INNER) to 800g for the 128MM WIDE DRUNKEN RHINOCEROS 128 (120MM INNER). Rim weight is rotating weight at the outside of the wheel, so every gram saved here is felt more than a gram saved on the frame. Inner widths of 49mm, 58mm, 59mm, 64mm, 74mm, 78mm, 79mm, 83mm, 89mm, 99mm, 114mm, 120mm decide the tire: wider beds let a big tire hold its shape at low pressure.
Value
Nextie molds its own rims and sells factory-direct, with no distributor or brand-marketing margin built into the price. The material and the construction are the same full carbon fiber, UD layup and tubeless-ready bed found on rims that cost two to three times as much from the big-name brands - the Nextie Fat Bike simply skips the layers of mark-up between the mold and your wheel.
Because we sell the Nextie Fat Bike only inside a wheel we build, that saving carries through the whole wheel: we lace it to the hub you choose, cut spokes to the measured ERD of the exact size, tension and true it by hand, and stand behind the build. You end up with a hand-built carbon wheel at a price most brands ask for the rim alone, and the current per-size price is always shown live in the configurator.
How we build it
Choose the size and wheel diameter, then a drilling (32h, 36h), and the configurator only offers hubs, spokes and lacing patterns that can actually be built with that combination. Sizes that are not made in a given drilling or diameter are struck through rather than hidden, so you can see the whole range. Build it into a wheel

Spoke head is decided by the hub, not the rim: this rim builds equally well with J-bend or straight-pull spokes, and the configurator only offers the spokes that match the hub you pick.
Warranty
Manufacturer's warranty. Nextie warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship. The duration, conditions and claim process are set by Nextie and can change without notice, so ask us and we will confirm the current terms before you buy.
ProWheelBuilder. Our one-year wheel warranty applies to any wheel we build around this part, alongside whatever the manufacturer offers. Inside that year, broken spokes are replaced no matter how they broke, and the wheel labor is ours - truing, re-tensioning or a full rebuild. A rim or hub failure that the maker covers, we claim for you and see through; one the maker declines, we answer with an eligible replacement at 25% off current retail. Shipping both ways is yours, and components you supply yourself fall outside this cover.

Is ProWheelBuilder the manufacturer of the Nextie Fat Bike?
No. Nextie designs and manufactures the rim. ProWheelBuilder is an independent custom wheel builder in Georgia: we buy the rim from Nextie and build it into a finished wheel to your spec.
Can I buy the Nextie Fat Bike on its own?
No. We supply Nextie rims only as part of a wheel we build, so every rim is laced, tensioned and trued here before it ships.
Which spoke count should I choose?
It depends on your weight, terrain and the hub, not on the rim alone. The configurator recommends a count from your bike type and rider weight, within the 32h, 36h this rim is drilled for.
Is the Nextie Fat Bike tubeless-ready?
Yes. Nextie builds the rim bed tubeless-ready; we tape and fit a valve when you choose the tubeless option in the build.
How long will the wheel take?
Build time comes down to parts availability rather than bench time. The estimated ship date is shown in the configurator before you check out.
