Reserve 28|XC SL Carbon Fiber Clincher Rim
The Reserve 28|XC SL Carbon Fiber Clincher Rim is a carbon fiber disc tubeless rim for custom wheel builds. Reserve designs and manufactures the rim; ProWheelBuilder is an independent custom wheel builder in Georgia, not the manufacturer. We build it into a complete wheel: choose the hub, spokes, nipples and lacing in the configurator and it ships laced, tensioned and trued by hand.

Material and weight
A carbon fiber rim, listed by Reserve at 350g in 700c/29in. Rim weight is rotating weight at the outside of the wheel, so it is felt more than the same grams on the frame. A 28mm inner width supports wide tires at low pressure and gives them a stable, rounded profile.
Value
Every Reserve rim we sell is built into a wheel here: we cut spokes to the measured ERD of the exact size, lace it to the hub you choose, tension and true it by hand and stand behind the build. The current per-size price is always shown live in the configurator.
How we build it
Pick the wheel size (29in), then a drilling (24h), and the configurator only offers hubs, spokes and lacing patterns that can be built with that combination. Sizes or drillings not made are struck through rather than hidden. Start from this rim in the Custom Wheel Program, or send us a rim you already own with the supply-your-own option.
Warranty
Reserve's warranty. Reserve, made by Santa Cruz Bicycles, covers its rims for the lifetime of the rim to the original owner: a rim broken while riding is replaced, and damage from a non-riding incident is covered by a low-cost crash-replacement program.
ProWheelBuilder. If we lace this into a wheel for you, that wheel also carries ProWheelBuilder's own one-year warranty, which covers broken spokes regardless of cause and all wheel-related labor, including truing and rebuilding, for a year from purchase. Where a rim or hub is covered by its maker, we make the manufacturer's claim for you and coordinate it; where it is not, we offer an eligible replacement rim or hub at 25% off current retail. Shipping to and from us is the customer's. This cover does not extend to wheels built from components you supply yourself.

Is ProWheelBuilder the manufacturer of the Reserve 28|XC SL Carbon Fiber Clincher Rim?
No. Reserve makes the rim. ProWheelBuilder is an independent custom wheel builder in Georgia: we buy the rim from Reserve and build it into a finished wheel to your spec.
Is it tubeless-ready?
Yes. Reserve lists the 28|XC SL Carbon Fiber Clincher Rim as clincher tubeless compatible; we tape and fit a valve when you choose the tubeless option.
Which spoke count should I choose?
It depends on your weight, terrain and the hub, not the rim alone. The configurator recommends a count from your bike type and rider weight, within the drillings this rim is made in.
How long will the wheel take?
Build time comes down to parts availability rather than bench time. The estimated ship date is shown in the configurator before you check out.
