The Reserve 49 TA SL Rear Carbon Fiber Clincher Rim is a carbon fiber disc tubeless rim for custom wheel builds. Reserve designs and manufactures the rim; ProWheelBuilder is an independent custom wheel builder in Georgia, not the manufacturer. We build it into a complete wheel: choose the hub, spokes, nipples and lacing in the configurator and it ships laced, tensioned and trued by hand.

Material and weight
A carbon fiber rim, listed by Reserve at 415g in 700c/29in. Rim weight is rotating weight at the outside of the wheel, so it is felt more than the same grams on the frame. A 24.8mm inner width suits road and gravel tires that want a rounder profile.
Value
Every Reserve rim we sell is built into a wheel here: we cut spokes to the measured ERD of the exact size, lace it to the hub you choose, tension and true it by hand and stand behind the build. The current per-size price is always shown live in the configurator.
How we build it
Pick the wheel size (29in), then a drilling (24h), and the configurator only offers hubs, spokes and lacing patterns that can be built with that combination. Sizes or drillings not made are struck through rather than hidden. Start from this rim in the Custom Wheel Program, or send us a rim you already own with the supply-your-own option.
Warranty
Reserve's warranty. Reserve, made by Santa Cruz Bicycles, covers its rims for the lifetime of the rim to the original owner: a rim broken while riding is replaced, and damage from a non-riding incident is covered by a low-cost crash-replacement program.
ProWheelBuilder. Built into a wheel by us, this part is covered by our own one-year wheel warranty on top of the maker's. For a year we replace broken spokes whatever caused them, and we cover the labor on the wheel - truing, re-tensioning, a rebuild if it needs one. If a rim or hub fails and its maker covers it, we run that claim for you; if the maker says no, you get an eligible replacement rim or hub at 25% off retail. You pay the shipping each way. Wheels built from parts you send us are excluded.
