DT Swiss 240 Campagnolo Driver Body and End Cap
The Campagnolo driver body for DT Swiss 240 hubs, supplied with the matching end cap. On a DT hub the driver is a replaceable module rather than part of the hub shell, which means moving between drivetrain standards is a parts change, not a new wheel.
What it does
This is one of the quiet reasons DT hubs hold their value. A wheel built around a 240 can follow you through a groupset change, a second bike, or a move from one cassette standard to another, and the wheel itself never has to be touched - the spokes stay tensioned and the rim stays where it is.
The end cap matters as much as the body. Driver and end cap are matched parts, and fitting the right pair is what sets the bearing preload and the spacing correctly. Supplying them together is DT removing the most common way this job goes wrong.
It carries Campagnolo's cassette spline, which has stayed consistent across several generations of their groupsets.
DT Swiss has been making spokes in Biel, Switzerland since the business was carved out of the old Swiss wire works, and the engineering culture shows most in the dull parts: threads that are rolled rather than cut, tolerances that let a part be serviced instead of replaced, and spares that still exist for hubs sold a decade ago.
Fit and compatibility
For DT Swiss 240 hubs. DT have made several generations of 240 and the driver interface has changed over time, so tell us the hub - or send it to us - and we will confirm the correct body before anything is ordered.
How we use it at ProWheelBuilder
We keep this on the bench rather than ordering it in when a job needs it, which is why the notes above are first-hand.
ProWheelBuilder is an independent wheel builder in Georgia. DT Swiss designs and manufactures this; we use it, we stock it, and we are happy to say whether it is the one you need before you buy it.
Warranty
DT Swiss's warranty. DT Swiss covers its products against material and manufacturing defects for 24 months from purchase, excluding wear parts such as bearings and tubeless tape. Carbon rims and carbon wheels bought new since 1 January 2020 carry an extended guarantee to the first owner against defects in material and workmanship, and DT Swiss runs a paid crash-replacement scheme on carbon wheels for up to ten years from purchase.
ProWheelBuilder. Tools and accessories sit outside ProWheelBuilder's one-year wheel warranty, which applies to the wheels we lace. Cover for this item is the manufacturer's.

DT Swiss 240 Campagnolo driver body questions
Will this fit any DT 240?
Not automatically. The 240 has run through more than one generation and the ratchet and driver interface changed with them. Tell us which hub you have and we will check.
Do I need the end cap as well?
It comes with one, and you should use it. The cap is matched to the driver and sets the spacing and preload - mixing a new body with an old cap is how people end up with a hub that feels notchy or has play.
Can I swap this myself?
On a DT hub it is usually a hand job rather than a workshop one, which is rather the point. If you would rather not, send us the wheel.
Is ProWheelBuilder the manufacturer of the DT Swiss 240 Campagnolo Driver Body and End Cap?
No. DT Swiss designs and manufactures it. ProWheelBuilder is an independent wheel builder in Georgia that stocks it and uses it on the wheels we build.
Not sure? Text or leave a voicemail on 470-253-0929 or email info@prowheelbuilder.com — you will be talking to the people who build the wheels.
