DT Swiss Spokey Pro Black Squorx Nipple Wrench
The Spokey Pro cut for DT Swiss's Squorx nipple. Squorx is DT's own nipple head - a square drive with a deeper, more positive engagement than a conventional slotted nipple - and it wants a wrench cut for it rather than one that nearly fits.
What it does
A nipple wrench that fits properly is the cheapest insurance in wheelbuilding. A loose fit rounds the nipple, and a rounded nipple on a tensioned wheel means cutting the spoke out and rebuilding that section of the wheel.
The Pro version is the stiffer, bench-grade one: it holds the nipple on more faces and flexes less in the hand, so the torque goes into the nipple instead of into the tool. On a wheel being brought up to full tension that is the difference between a clean quarter turn and a wrench that slips at exactly the wrong moment.
DT Swiss is a Swiss company whose reputation was built on spokes and then extended to hubs, and its components share one habit - they are designed to be opened. That is why there is a catalog of service tools at all; a sealed part would not need one.

Every wheel we build is tensioned with wrenches that match the nipple exactly. We keep separate wrenches for separate nipple heads rather than forcing one to do everything, because the cost of a rounded nipple is measured in rebuild time, not in tools.

Warranty
DT Swiss's warranty. DT Swiss covers its products against material and manufacturing defects for 24 months from purchase, excluding wear parts such as bearings and tubeless tape. Carbon rims and carbon wheels bought new since 1 January 2020 carry an extended guarantee to the first owner against defects in material and workmanship, and DT Swiss runs a paid crash-replacement scheme on carbon wheels for up to ten years from purchase.

Pro or standard?
Pro if you are tensioning wheels regularly. It is stiffer and engages more fully; the standard one is fine for roadside adjustment.
