Industry Nine DJ305 Aluminum Rim
The Industry Nine DJ305 is the rim Industry Nine built for dirt jump and slopestyle: 30.5mm inside, reinforced for the flat landings and casing that jump riding produces, in 26in and 27.5in with 32 hole drilling. It is the rim for riders who need a wheel that survives a season at the jumps and the pump track, laced to a Hydra 2 single speed or any other hub in the catalog.
This page covers the Industry Nine DJ305 Aluminum Rim in 26in. The DJ305 comes from us only as a finished wheel: pick the hub, spokes and nipples, and we lace, tension and true it by hand in Georgia before it ships.
Design and construction
The DJ305 is a welded double-wall aluminum rim with a 30.5mm inner width and thicker walls than Industry Nine's trail rims, reinforced at the bead and spoke bed where a cased jump loads the wheel. It is tubeless-ready for riders who want it and equally happy with tubes, which many jump riders still prefer. 32 hole only, standard nipples, J-bend spokes, disc only.
Industry Nine's alloy rims are made to be built onto Industry Nine hubs, which means the spoke holes are angled for the flange geometry of a Hydra or 1/1 and the ERDs are published to the tenth of a millimeter, and that discipline carries over to any hub we lace them to. The rims arrive with the tubeless tape and valve the company recommends, and the anodized black finish matches the black 1/1 hub or sets off a colored Hydra.
How it rides
A DJ305 wheel is stiff and takes abuse. Flat landings, cased doubles and pump-track compressions that would fold a trail rim leave it true, and the 30mm bed gives a 2.3 to 2.5in jump tire a stable shape at the higher pressures jump riders run. It is heavy for a 26in rim, which is the right trade for a wheel that has to survive.
We build a lot of DJ305 wheels for riders who have flattened the stock rims on a jump bike and want one rebuild that lasts. With 32 Sapim Strong spokes and brass nipples on a Hydra 2 single-speed hub it is about as durable as a 26in wheel gets, and the tubeless bead lets you run a lower pressure at the pump track without pinch flats.

About this listing
Version notes. 26in, 32h, about 590g, 30.5mm inside, 18.3mm deep, disc. The other sizes and brake versions of the DJ305 have their own listings; this page is for this one.
The disc version of the DJ305 has no brake track, so the sidewall is a plain extrusion that saves a little weight and never wears; it is the one to choose for any disc-brake frame. The rim-brake version, listed separately, has a machined sidewall.
Sizes, fit and compatibility
The Industry Nine DJ305 Aluminum Rim comes in 26in and 32h drilling. It is a disc-brake rim. We build the DJ305 on Industry Nine Hydra 2 single speed and 1/1 hubs, DT Swiss 350, Hope Pro 5 and Onyx hubs, usually with DT Champion, Sapim Race or Sapim Strong spokes and brass nipples.
Tire range on the DJ305 is 2.2 to 2.5in. Pick dirt jump as your bike type in the configurator and it recommends a spoke count and lacing pattern.
Build it into a wheel
This rim is live in our Custom Wheel Program for mountain bike and MTB single-speed builds. Start a build with the Industry 9 Dj305 Aluminum Rim and the configurator opens with this exact rim pinned at the top of the Industry Nine list — you choose the rest of the parts and it validates every combination as you go.
Spoke head is decided by the hub, not the rim: this rim builds equally well with J-bend or straight-pull spokes, and the configurator only offers the spokes that match the hub you pick.
Testing, standards and warranty at Industry Nine
Industry Nine's rim range is split between Convergence carbon rims and Hollow-Bead alloy rims (Sector, Triad, Grade 300 and DJ305). Industry Nine states every carbon rim "is laid up by a named technician, assigned a serial number, and produced entirely under one roof in Kamloops" (British Columbia). Its alloy rims use a Hollow Bead Wall design intended to improve impact resistance and reduce pinch flats; the Enduro 305 V3 introduced a bead wall 45% wider than the V2, and a 2024 review lists the Enduro 300 as a "triple cavity aluminum rim with Hollow Bead Wall design". Industry Nine does not publish the alloy grade (a review lists "6000-series aluminum alloy"), where alloy extrusions are made, or any impact- or fatigue-test figures, ISO 4210 or UCI approvals.
Warranty: Industry Nine states "Our carbon rims are covered for life against defects in materials and workmanship" and "We also cover impact damage that occurs while riding within the intended use of the wheel." Alloy rims "are covered for life against manufacturing defects, including split seams and cracks at spoke holes", with full parts, labor and return shipping for the first two years; "Impact or crash damage on alloy rims is not covered under warranty but may qualify for our Crash Replacement program." Coverage is to the original purchaser only.

Building it at ProWheelBuilder
Industry Nine makes the DJ305; ProWheelBuilder is an independent wheel builder in Georgia, not the manufacturer. We measure the rim before we cut a spoke, bring the wheel up in three or four rounds with a gauge, stress-relieve it between rounds and true it last, then tape it and fit a valve if you want it tubeless.
Only compatible hubs and spokes appear in the configurator, impossible combinations are struck through rather than hidden, and the price is live.
Warranty
Industry Nine's warranty. Industry Nine covers its hubs against defects in materials and workmanship for five years from purchase, with two years on the anodized finish. Its alloy and carbon rims carry a lifetime defect warranty to the original purchaser, with parts, labor and return shipping covered for the first two years and parts thereafter. Bearing wear, impact and crash damage are not defects.
ProWheelBuilder. Any wheel we build on this part carries ProWheelBuilder's one-year warranty in addition to the manufacturer's. Broken spokes are replaced for a year whatever the cause, and all wheel-side labor is included - truing, re-tensioning, rebuilding. Where the maker covers a failed rim or hub we handle that claim for you; where they decline, an eligible replacement comes at 25% off current retail. The customer covers shipping in both directions. Components supplied by the customer are not covered.

DJ305 Aluminum Rim questions
What tire width suits this rim?
At 30.5mm inside this is a trail width, sized around 2.1 to 2.4in tires. That is wide enough to stop a modern trail casing rolling under you in a corner without pushing the tread so flat that it wears down the middle.
Is the DJ305 tubeless?
Yes, it is tubeless-ready, and it also runs tubes happily, which many jump riders prefer.
What sizes does the DJ305 come in?
26in and 27.5in, 32 hole.
Which spokes suit a dirt-jump wheel?
Straight-gauge DT Champion or single-butted Sapim Strong with brass nipples; the configurator recommends them when you pick dirt jump.
Can I use the DJ305 on a trail bike?
Yes, as a very tough trail rim; it is heavier than the Grade 300, which is the better trail choice.
Is it tubeless-ready?
Yes. Industry Nine lists the DJ305 Aluminum Rim as clincher tubeless compatible; we tape and fit a valve when you choose the tubeless option.
Which spoke count should I choose?
It depends on your weight, terrain and the hub, not the rim alone. The configurator recommends a count from your bike type and rider weight, within the drillings this rim is made in.
