Velo Orange Chronos Boost Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub
The Velo Orange Chronos Boost Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub brings the Chronos design to modern mountain bike and bikepacking forks: a 15x110mm Boost thru-axle, a 6-bolt rotor mount, 58mm flanges and large sealed cartridge bearings, at 160 grams.
It is drilled 28 or 32 hole in silver or black. This page covers the Boost front; we build it to order for 29er, 27.5in and other mountain wheels and lace it by hand in Georgia.
Design and construction
Boost spacing exists for one reason: a wider hub lets the flanges sit farther apart, and a wider stance makes a stiffer wheel. On the Chronos Boost front the flanges sit 26.9mm on the rotor side and 32.4mm on the other, against 21.6 and 35.3 on the 100mm Chronos disc front, so the spokes are more evenly tensioned and better braced, which you feel when a big-volume front tire is pushed hard into a turn.
Everything else is the Chronos formula: a 58mm high-flange shell, big sealed cartridge bearings, punched J-bend spoke holes and an ISO 6-bolt rotor mount. There is no Centerlock version.
How it rides
This is the front for a hardtail, a rigid mountain bike or a bikepacking rig with a Boost fork. A stiffer front wheel tracks straighter through rocks and roots and steers more precisely under a loaded handlebar roll.
For loaded bikepacking and heavier riders we suggest 32 hole; a 28-hole build saves a little weight on a trail or cross-country wheel. A 27mm-inside rim such as the Velo Orange Orbital, built on this hub, suits 2.2 to 2.5in tires.

About this listing
This listing is the Boost Chronos front: 15x110mm thru-axle only, 6-bolt rotor, 28 or 32 hole, about 160g.
A 100mm fork, whether quick release, 12mm or 15mm, takes the Chronos Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub instead; it will not fit a Boost fork, and this hub will not fit a 100mm fork. The matching rear for a Boost bike is the Chronos Boost rear, 148x12.
Sizes, fit and compatibility
Boost forks are 110mm between the dropouts with a 15mm thru-axle, standard on most mountain bikes made since about 2016. Check the fork or its axle if you are unsure. Velo Orange does not include the thru-axle; your fork's own is used.
Any ISO 6-bolt rotor fits. We usually build it with DT Competition or Champion or Sapim Race spokes and brass nipples on a mountain bike disc rim. Choose mountain bike or single-speed mountain as the bike type in the configurator and it recommends spoke count and lacing.
Put it in a custom wheel

How Velo Orange makes and checks the Chronos
The hub factory Velo Orange uses in Taiwan does its forging in-house: on the 2025 visit Velo Orange photographed aluminum bar stock being cold-forged into shells on a 650-ton press before CNC machining and the 6-bolt rotor mount. The spoke holes are punched, not drilled, and the chamfer that leaves is, in Velo Orange's words, the best seat for a J-bend spoke because it does not create a stress riser at the bend. Each hub is checked for smooth rotation and bearing play before packing. New hubs were already sampling and in testing at the time of that visit.
The Chronos fronts share the high-flange design of the rears. Velo Orange says the 58mm flange was chosen for longevity, because it leaves room for large sealed cartridge bearings, and credits it with a more reliable wheel build and a hub that stays smooth through seasons of grit and grime.
Velo Orange does not publish impact, fatigue or ISO test results for the Chronos. On warranty it states that defective parts can be exchanged for one year from the purchase date, with proof of purchase.

Building it at ProWheelBuilder
The Chronos Boost front is a Velo Orange part; the wheel is ours. ProWheelBuilder is an independent builder in Georgia, and every wheel is laced by hand to your order: spokes cut to length for the measured rim, tension brought up in rounds and checked with a gauge, stress relief, then a final true and dish check.
Pick the rim, spokes and nipples in the configurator; anything that does not fit this hub is struck through, and the price updates with each choice.
Warranty
Velo Orange's warranty. Velo Orange exchanges defective parts and accessories, its rims and hubs among them, for one year from the purchase date. Proof of purchase is required, because the warranty period runs from the day the part was bought.
ProWheelBuilder. Our one-year wheel warranty applies to any wheel we build around this part, alongside whatever the manufacturer offers. Inside that year, broken spokes are replaced no matter how they broke, and the wheel labor is ours - truing, re-tensioning or a full rebuild. A rim or hub failure that the maker covers, we claim for you and see through; one the maker declines, we answer with an eligible replacement at 25% off current retail. Shipping both ways is yours, and components you supply yourself fall outside this cover.

Chronos Boost Front Hub questions
What is Boost?
A wider hub standard, 110mm front and 148mm rear, that spreads the flanges to build a stiffer wheel. It needs a Boost fork.
Will this fit my 100mm fork with an adapter?
No. Choose the Chronos Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub for a 100mm fork.
Does it take a 20mm axle?
No. It is 15x110 only.
Will my Centerlock rotor fit?
No. It is 6-bolt only, so use an ISO 6-bolt rotor.
Which rear goes with it?
The Chronos Boost rear for 148x12 frames, in the same finishes and flange size.
Is ProWheelBuilder the manufacturer of the Chronos Boost front?
No. Velo Orange makes the hub. ProWheelBuilder is an independent custom wheel builder in Georgia that builds it into a wheel to your spec.
