White Industries Track High Flange Rear Hub
The White Industries track high-flange hub is the fixed-gear hub for riders who want the classic look and a hub that lasts: tall windowed flanges in the style of the great track hubs, a 6061 shell machined in Petaluma, California, Enduro sealed cartridge bearings, a bolt-on axle, fixed threading with a lockring on the rear and a fixed/free option, in polished and anodized finishes. This page covers the White Industries Track High Flange Rear Hub.
The White Industries track hub is sold here only inside a wheel we build. Choose the rim, spokes and nipples in the configurator and the finished wheel ships from Georgia laced, tensioned and trued by hand.
Design and construction
Tall windowed flanges in the style of the great track hubs, a 6061 shell machined in Petaluma, Enduro sealed cartridge bearings and a bolt-on axle, with fixed threading and a lockring on the rear and a fixed/free option. The tall flange shortens the spoke and steepens its angle, which is what gives a track wheel its directness under a standing start.
White Industries has been doing this for nearly fifty years, and every component is designed, machined, finished, assembled and inspected in the one building. On a fixed wheel, where the hub takes drive and braking through the same threads, that consistency is not a romantic detail.
How it rides
A White Industries track wheel is stiff, because tall flanges shorten the spokes and stiffen the wheel, and it is permanent, because the bearings are sealed and everything is rebuildable. It is the hub we build for velodrome bikes, fixed-gear street bikes and anyone who wants a polished high-flange hub that will still be running in thirty years.

This version
This version is the rim-brake hub in Bolt On 10x120mm, drilled for 24h, 28h, 32h, 36h, about 293g, in polished, black. Those are the only things that differ between the versions of the track; the shell, bearings and seals are the same.
No rotor mount here: this is the rim-brake version of the track, which drops the disc flange and the weight that goes with it. It suits rim-brake road, touring and track frames and it is often the lightest hub in the family. Disc-brake frames need one of the disc versions listed separately.
Sizes, fit and compatibility
The White Industries Track High Flange Rear Hub comes in the drillings listed on this page in 100mm front and 120mm rear bolt-on spacing, fixed or fixed/free. J-bend spokes in any gauge; we build most track wheels with DT Champion or Sapim Race and Laser spokes and brass nipples.
It pairs naturally with the Velocity Deep V, H Plus Son Archetype and TB14, and any track rim in the catalog that matches its drilling. Pick track or fixed-gear as your bike type in the configurator and it recommends a spoke count and lacing pattern.

How White Industries tests its hubs
White Industries states that every hub is CNC-machined, hand-assembled, and inspected in its Petaluma, California facility, keeping “machining, assembly, quality control, and operations under one roof”. Founded in 1978 with about 20 employees, the company says it has been designing, machining, assembling, and testing components in Northern California for more than four decades in a 100% solar-powered shop using domestically sourced raw materials. It publishes no load, fatigue, or salt-spray test figures.
White Industries states it has partnered with Enduro on bearings since 1996. Hubs ship with Enduro high-carbon chromium steel sealed cartridge bearings (two 17287 in the CLD front; four, including 61902-LLU/LLB, in the CLD rear); the Enduro XD-15 upgrade with ceramic balls in nitrogen-infused super-stainless-steel races carries a limited lifetime warranty. Shells are 6061-T6 aluminum, polished then anodized; bearing preload is adjustable and hubs are described as easily serviceable and rebuildable. Weights: CLD front 146 g, CLD rear 280 g, T11 rear 248 g.
The Warranty & Returns page states a limited five-year warranty to the original owner, excluding normal wear, misuse, improper installation, and labor; proof of purchase is required and return shipping is covered within 90 days of purchase. Older instruction pages still cite one year, with bearings 60 days.

White Industries publishes those results; ProWheelBuilder builds the hub into a wheel and does not test it in a lab.
Building it at ProWheelBuilder
White Industries makes the track; ProWheelBuilder is an independent custom wheel builder in Georgia and not the manufacturer. Spokes are cut from the ERD we measure on the actual rim, the wheel comes up in stages on a tensiometer, and it is stress-relieved and trued before it goes in the box; tape and a valve go on if you ask.
The configurator filters to what fits, crosses out what is not made, and prices the build as you go.
Warranty
Manufacturer's warranty. White Industries warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship. The duration, conditions and claim process are set by White Industries and can change without notice, so ask us and we will confirm the current terms before you buy.
ProWheelBuilder. Lace this into a wheel here and the finished wheel gets our own one-year warranty as well as the maker's. For twelve months we replace broken spokes however they broke, and the work on the wheel is on us - truing, re-tensioning, a rebuild where it is needed. If the rim or hub is covered by its manufacturer we put the claim in and chase it; if it is not, we supply an eligible replacement rim or hub at 25% off the current retail price. Carriage both ways is the customer's, and this does not cover wheels built from parts you send in.
Full terms are on our Policies & Warranty page.
Track High Flange Rear Hub questions
Can I use this hub with disc brakes?
No - this is the rim-brake version and it has no rotor mount at all, which is exactly why it is lighter and simpler. It is the one for a rim-brake road, track or classic frame. A disc frame needs one of the disc versions of this hub, which are listed separately.
High flange or low flange?
High flanges shorten the spokes and make a stiffer wheel, and they look the part on a track bike; White Industries makes both, and the choice is mostly aesthetic.
Fixed or fixed/free?
Fixed for the velodrome and pure fixed-gear riding; fixed/free flips between a fixed cog and a freewheel for street use.
What spacing?
100mm front and 120mm rear, the track standard, with bolt-on axles.
Which finishes?
Polished, black and White Industries' anodized colors.
Is ProWheelBuilder the manufacturer of the White Industries Track High Flange Rear Hub?
We are not. White Industries manufactures the hub; ProWheelBuilder's part is the wheel: measuring, lacing, tensioning and truing it here in Georgia.
Which axle spacing does it fit?
Bolt On 10x120mm Rear. Measure between the inside faces of your dropouts if you are unsure, or text us.
Not sure? Text or leave a voicemail on 470-253-0929 or email info@prowheelbuilder.com — you will be talking to the people who build the wheels.
