DT Swiss 350 2021 + Front Black Hub
If we had to pick one hub to build every wheel on for the rest of our careers, the 350 would be on the shortlist and would probably win. The 350 is not the lightest hub DT Swiss makes and it is not the flashiest. It is the one that keeps coming back to the shop only because the customer wants a new rim laced to it.
This page covers the 2021-and-later DT Swiss 350 2021 + Front Black Hub.
We sell the 350 only inside a wheel we build. Choose the rim, spokes and nipples in the configurator and the finished 350 wheel ships from our shop in Georgia, laced, tensioned and trued by hand.
Design and construction
The 350 hubshell is a milled aluminum body on a lightweight axle with sealed cartridge bearings. On the 2021+ DT 350 the axle is stiffer than the old version and the end caps are the plug-in type, so the same 350 hub converts between quick release and thru-axle standards with a cap change. The flange spacing is classic DT, which means every spoke calculator on earth knows the 350 and the wheel builds true first time.
This is the front hub, and a front hub has no freehub. What matters here is the part of the hub that carries the wheel: the bearings, the seals, the axle and the two flanges, and the front 350 shares all of them with its rear partner. It is the simpler half of the pair and the one that runs longest between services. The driver and engagement story belongs on the rear hub's page; this page is about a front wheel that spins freely, stays sealed and builds stiff.
How it rides
A DT 350 does not draw attention to itself, which is exactly what you want from a hub.
For most riders the 350 is the right trade.
On the road or the trail the front hub's job is to disappear: spin freely, keep water out, and hold the flanges still so the wheel tracks where you point it. The front 350 does that with the same bearings and seals as the rear and none of the rear's complexity, and because a front wheel carries less load and no torque it stays true longer than the rear on the same rim. When the rear finally needs a look, the front usually does not.

About this listing
What sets this listing apart from the other 350 versions: rim-brake rotor mount, QR 5x100mm, 20h, 24h, 32h drilling, about 149g, in black. Pick the one that matches your frame and rotor and the rest of the hub is identical.
This is the rim-brake 350, with no rotor mount at all: a lighter, simpler shell for road, track and classic frames that stop on the rim. It builds into the lightest wheel the model can make and it is the version to choose for a rim-brake bike; the disc versions of the same hub have their own listings.
Sizes, fit and compatibility
The DT Swiss 350 2021 + Front Black Hub comes in the drillings listed on this page and in the axle and rotor options shown in the configurator: centerlock disc, 6-bolt disc or rim brake, road and MTB spacings including Boost.
The 350 is a J-bend hub, which opens up every spoke we stock. We build the 350 onto DT Swiss rims, Stan's, WTB, Race Face, HED, Velocity and most carbon rims in the catalog. Tell the configurator your bike type and weight and it will suggest a spoke count that suits the drilling you pick.
Build a wheel around it
Offered for road rim brake, touring and mountain bike builds in our Custom Wheel Program. Start with the DT Swiss 350 2021 + Front Black Hub and the configurator pins it for you, then checks each choice you make against it.
Testing, standards and warranty at DT Swiss
DT Swiss hubs pass through the same Performance Test Center in Biel as its rims. DT Swiss states that its laboratory tests replicate what products endure in the field over the whole product life cycle, under an internal factory standard that ensures compliance with ISO 4210. DT Swiss publishes no bearing-life, salt-spray or water-ingress figures.
DT Swiss fits industrial ball bearings to all its hubs and describes them as easy to replace. It recommends cleaning and re-greasing hubs every 12 months in normal use and every 3 months in extreme conditions (regular riding in dust, rain or snow, or frequent transport in the rain). The warranty is 24 months from purchase against material and manufacturing defects; ball bearings are wear parts and excluded.

Certifications
- ISO 4210 / ASTM F 2043 — DT Swiss states its internal factory standard 'ensures compliance with the current international standards (e.g. ISO 4210)' and sets test parameters by ASTM F 2043 riding conditions (self-declared, no certificate published) (source)
- Warranty — 24 months legal warranty against material and manufacturing defects; ball bearings are wear parts and excluded (source)
- Service interval — Clean and re-grease every 12 months (normal use) or every 3 months (extreme conditions) (source)

Building it at ProWheelBuilder
DT makes the 350 in Switzerland and Poland; ProWheelBuilder is an independent custom wheel builder in Georgia, not the manufacturer. We have built enough DT 350 wheels to know its flange dimensions by heart, but we still cut spokes from the measured geometry of the rim in hand and bring every wheel up in stages with a tension gauge before truing and stress-relieving it.
Only compatible hubs and spokes appear in the configurator, impossible combinations are struck through rather than hidden, and the price is live.
Warranty
DT Swiss's warranty. DT Swiss covers its products against material and manufacturing defects for 24 months from purchase, excluding wear parts such as bearings and tubeless tape. Carbon rims and carbon wheels bought new since 1 January 2020 carry an extended guarantee to the first owner against defects in material and workmanship, and DT Swiss runs a paid crash-replacement scheme on carbon wheels for up to ten years from purchase.
ProWheelBuilder. Any wheel we build on this part carries ProWheelBuilder's one-year warranty in addition to the manufacturer's. Broken spokes are replaced for a year whatever the cause, and all wheel-side labor is included - truing, re-tensioning, rebuilding. Where the maker covers a failed rim or hub we handle that claim for you; where they decline, an eligible replacement comes at 25% off current retail. The customer covers shipping in both directions. Components supplied by the customer are not covered.

350 2021 + Front Black Hub questions
Can I use this hub with disc brakes?
No - this is the rim-brake version and it has no rotor mount at all, which is exactly why it is lighter and simpler. It is the one for a rim-brake road, track or classic frame. A disc frame needs one of the disc versions of this hub, which are listed separately.
Which axle spacing does it fit?
QR 5x100mm Front. Measure between the inside faces of your dropouts if you are unsure, or text us.
Does it need special spokes?
No. It takes standard J-bend spokes, which the configurator offers in every gauge and finish we stock.
How long will the wheel take?
Build time comes down to parts availability rather than bench time. The estimated ship date is shown in the configurator before you check out.
Not sure? Text or leave a voicemail on 470-253-0929 or email info@prowheelbuilder.com — you will be talking to the people who build the wheels.
