DT Swiss 350 2021 + Straight Pull Front Black Centerlock Disc Hub

The DT Swiss 350 Straight Pull Front Centerlock Disc Hub is the value end of DT's straight-pull range and the front we reach for when a wheel has to be reliable more than it has to be light: 132 grams in the 24-hole 12x100 road version, with a 28-hole 15x110 Boost version for mountain bikes on the same listing.

This is the straight-pull 350; the J-bend 350 Centerlock front is a separate listing. We lace it by hand in Georgia to the rim you choose.

Design and construction

DT gives the two shells their own geometry. The 24h road front runs flanges of 38.4 and 37.6mm set 22.1 and 35.1mm from center; the 28h Boost front uses a 40.8mm disc-side flange and spaces the flanges at 27.9 and 40mm. In both, the shell is aluminum and the bearings are sealed steel cartridges, the same simple, serviceable layout the 350 has always had.

Straight-pull is about the spoke, not the shell. With no 90-degree bend at the head, the spoke carries its tension in a straight line from flange to rim, and the weak point a J-bend spoke has at its elbow is simply gone. The price of that is that the lacing is set by the flange geometry: the hub, not a pattern chart, decides it.

End caps press on and off by hand, so changing thru-axle standards or fitting quick-release caps is a small parts order, not a new hub.

How it rides

A 350 front does nothing you notice, for a very long time. It is a few grams heavier than a 240, and that is the whole difference on the bike.

On a gravel or road disc bike the 24h is our usual pick; for trail and enduro the 28h Boost version gives a stiffer, stronger front wheel.

This version

What this listing covers: the 350 straight-pull Centerlock front in 24h with 12x100 caps or 28h with 15x110 Boost caps, the two versions BTI and QBP carry. Other pairings are struck through in the configurator.

Six-bolt rotors fit with a Centerlock adapter. For a lighter front with the same layout, see the 240 2020 + Straight Pull Front Centerlock.

Sizes, fit and compatibility

The 12x100 version fits road and gravel forks with 12mm thru-axles; quick-release and 15x100 conversions are available. The Boost version fits 110mm mountain bike forks with a 15mm axle, with a 12x110 conversion.

It needs straight-pull spokes. Choose gravel, road disc or mountain bike as the bike type in the configurator and it recommends a spoke count and shows only rims in the drilling you choose.

Build it with us

We build this hub to order. Open the Custom Wheel Program with the DT Swiss 350 2021 + Straight Pull Front Black Centerlock Disc Hub already selected and pick the parts around it; it is offered for gravel and road disc, track and road single-speed, mountain bike, MTB single-speed and fat bike builds, and the configurator will not let you assemble a combination we would not build.

DT Swiss's testing and certifications

DT Swiss hubs pass through the same Performance Test Center in Biel as its rims. DT Swiss states that its laboratory tests replicate what products endure in the field over the whole product life cycle, under an internal factory standard that ensures compliance with ISO 4210. DT Swiss publishes no bearing-life, salt-spray or water-ingress figures.

DT Swiss fits industrial ball bearings to all its hubs and describes them as easy to replace. It recommends cleaning and re-greasing hubs every 12 months in normal use and every 3 months in extreme conditions (regular riding in dust, rain or snow, or frequent transport in the rain). The warranty is 24 months from purchase against material and manufacturing defects; ball bearings are wear parts and excluded.

Certifications

  • ISO 4210 / ASTM F 2043 — DT Swiss states its internal factory standard 'ensures compliance with the current international standards (e.g. ISO 4210)' and sets test parameters by ASTM F 2043 riding conditions (self-declared, no certificate published) (source)
  • Warranty — 24 months legal warranty against material and manufacturing defects; ball bearings are wear parts and excluded (source)
  • Service interval — Clean and re-grease every 12 months (normal use) or every 3 months (extreme conditions) (source)

Building it at ProWheelBuilder

The DT Swiss 350 straight-pull Centerlock front is DT Swiss's part; the wheel is ours. ProWheelBuilder is an independent builder in Georgia: every wheel is laced by hand to order, with straight-pull spokes cut for the measured rim and DT's published flange offsets, tension brought up in rounds and checked with a meter, stress relief, then a final true and dish check.

Pick the rim, spokes and nipples in the configurator; only straight-pull spokes are offered, anything that does not fit is struck through, and the price updates with each choice.

Warranty

DT Swiss's warranty. DT Swiss covers its products against material and manufacturing defects for 24 months from purchase, excluding wear parts such as bearings and tubeless tape. Carbon rims and carbon wheels bought new since 1 January 2020 carry an extended guarantee to the first owner against defects in material and workmanship, and DT Swiss runs a paid crash-replacement scheme on carbon wheels for up to ten years from purchase.

ProWheelBuilder. If we lace this into a wheel for you, that wheel also carries ProWheelBuilder's own one-year warranty, which covers broken spokes regardless of cause and all wheel-related labor, including truing and rebuilding, for a year from purchase. Where a rim or hub is covered by its maker, we make the manufacturer's claim for you and coordinate it; where it is not, we offer an eligible replacement rim or hub at 25% off current retail. Shipping to and from us is the customer's. This cover does not extend to wheels built from components you supply yourself.

350 Straight Pull Front Centerlock questions

What is the difference between the 350 and the 240 straight-pull fronts?

Mostly weight and finish: the 240 is about 28 grams lighter in the 24h road version. Both use DT's straight-pull flange layout and sealed cartridge bearings.

Do I need special spokes?

Straight-pull spokes only. The configurator hides J-bend spokes once this hub is in your build.

Which lacing pattern does it use?

The flange slots set the spoke line, so the hub decides the pattern; the configurator shows Determined by hub.

Will my rotors fit?

Centerlock rotors fit directly. Six-bolt rotors need a Centerlock adapter, which is offered in the configurator.
