DT Swiss 350 2021 + Straight Pull Rear Black Hub
The DT Swiss 350 Straight Pull Rear Hub is the rim-brake road rear of DT's straight-pull 350 range: 24 holes, a 130mm quick-release axle and Ratchet System 36 SL, 230 grams with a Shimano road body by DT's figure.
It partners the 20-hole radial 350 straight-pull front; the J-bend 350 rim-brake rear is a separate listing. We build it to order by hand in Georgia.
Design and construction
The shell is laid out for a road rear without a rotor: flanges of 38.7 and 46.2mm, set 33.9mm from center on the non-drive side and 15.3mm on the drive side. Straight-pull slots point every spoke at the rim, so the drive side, which carries most of the wheel's tension, has no elbows to fatigue.
Straight-pull is about the spoke, not the shell. With no 90-degree bend at the head, the spoke carries its tension in a straight line from flange to rim, and the weak point a J-bend spoke has at its elbow is simply gone. The price of that is that the lacing is set by the flange geometry: the hub, not a pattern chart, decides it.
Ratchet System 36 SL drives through two spring-loaded star ratchets that engage every tooth at once; the freehub body pulls off by hand for cleaning.
How it rides
A 350 road rear is quiet, stiff and simple to keep running, the kind of hub that needs a clean and fresh grease in the ratchets every so often and otherwise gets on with it.
With straight-pull spokes and a 24-hole rim it makes a light, durable rear for a rim-brake road bike.

This version
What this listing covers: the 350 straight-pull rim-brake rear, 24h, QR 5x130 road spacing. A 135mm option is listed but closed, because the distributors do not carry this hub in 135. Freehub bodies are chosen in the configurator: Shimano HG road or MTB, SRAM XDR or XD, Micro Spline or Campagnolo.
For disc brakes choose the 350 2021 + Straight Pull Rear Centerlock.
Sizes, fit and compatibility
It fits rim-brake road frames with 130mm quick-release dropouts and any 24-hole rim-brake rim. It needs straight-pull spokes; a skewer is not included.
Choose road or touring as the bike type in the configurator and it recommends a spoke count and shows only 24-hole rim-brake rims.
Build it into a wheel
This hub is live in our Custom Wheel Program for road rim brake, touring and mountain bike builds. Start a build with the DT Swiss 350 2021 + Straight Pull Rear Black Hub and the configurator opens with this exact hub pinned at the top of the DT Swiss list — you choose the rest of the parts and it validates every combination as you go.
How DT Swiss tests its hubs
DT Swiss hubs pass through the same Performance Test Center in Biel as its rims. DT Swiss states that its laboratory tests replicate what products endure in the field over the whole product life cycle, under an internal factory standard that ensures compliance with ISO 4210. Hub-relevant methods are the drum test, in which a wheel loaded to its permissible system weight spins on an obstacle-studded steel drum for a specified mileage, and a brake and drive torque test in which cyclic braking and driving torques are applied to the hub while the wheel is locked or driven at constant speed. DT Swiss publishes no bearing-life, salt-spray or water-ingress figures.
the torque test also verifies "the freewheel functionality and durability". DT Swiss states that Ratchet EXP is 15% stiffer and gives longer bearing life through its increased bearing distance, and that Ratchet DEG uses larger steel ratchets to spread load over a larger contact surface. Ratchet EXP units built since 2019 with a 0 or 9 in the middle of the production code are covered by a free-inspection notice for premature ratchet wear.

- ISO 4210 / ASTM F 2043 — DT Swiss states its internal factory standard 'ensures compliance with the current international standards (e.g. ISO 4210)' and sets test parameters by ASTM F 2043 riding conditions (self-declared, no certificate published) (source)
- Warranty — 24 months legal warranty against material and manufacturing defects; ball bearings are wear parts and excluded (source)
- Service interval — Clean and re-grease every 12 months (normal use) or every 3 months (extreme conditions) (source)

Building it at ProWheelBuilder
The DT Swiss 350 straight-pull rim-brake rear is DT Swiss's part; the wheel is ours. ProWheelBuilder is an independent builder in Georgia: every wheel is laced by hand to order, with straight-pull spokes cut for the measured rim and DT's published flange offsets, tension brought up in rounds and checked with a meter, stress relief, then a final true and dish check.
Pick the rim, spokes and nipples in the configurator; only straight-pull spokes are offered, anything that does not fit is struck through, and the price updates with each choice.
Warranty
DT Swiss's warranty. DT Swiss covers its products against material and manufacturing defects for 24 months from purchase, excluding wear parts such as bearings and tubeless tape. Carbon rims and carbon wheels bought new since 1 January 2020 carry an extended guarantee to the first owner against defects in material and workmanship, and DT Swiss runs a paid crash-replacement scheme on carbon wheels for up to ten years from purchase.
ProWheelBuilder. Lace this into a wheel here and the finished wheel gets our own one-year warranty as well as the maker's. For twelve months we replace broken spokes however they broke, and the work on the wheel is on us - truing, re-tensioning, a rebuild where it is needed. If the rim or hub is covered by its manufacturer we put the claim in and chase it; if it is not, we supply an eligible replacement rim or hub at 25% off the current retail price. Carriage both ways is the customer's, and this does not cover wheels built from parts you send in.

350 Straight Pull Rear Rim Brake questions
Do I need special spokes?
Straight-pull spokes only. The configurator shows only straight-pull spoke brands with this hub.
Can I change the freehub body later?
Yes, the body pulls off by hand. Order the body you need and it swaps in minutes.
Which lacing pattern does it use?
The flange sets it; the configurator shows the lacing step as Determined by hub.
Is a 135mm version available?
Not from our distributors at the moment, so the 135 option is shown but closed. It reopens itself if stock appears.
