DT Swiss E 532 Disc Brake Rim
The DT Swiss E 532 is the enduro rim for riders who would, as DT Swiss puts it, rather bust berms than their budgets. The E 532 is based on the multi-EWS-winning EX 511: same 30mm inner width, same profile reinforced in the places rock strikes land, but sleeved rather than welded and with conventional eyelets to keep the cost down. The factory rates the E 532 for a system weight up to 130kg, which tells you how it is built.
This page covers the DT Swiss E 532 Disc Brake Rim in 29in, 27.5in. The E 532 is not sold bare. You choose the hub and the rest of the build in the configurator, and it ships from our shop in Georgia laced, tensioned and trued by hand.
Design and construction
The factory extrudes the E 532 from its enduro alloy and joins it with a precision sleeve that keeps the seam aligned and the rim round. The 30mm inner width gives a 2.4 to 2.6in tire a square, supportive shape at low pressure, and the walls are thickened at the bead hook and the spoke bed where enduro rims take their abuse. Stainless eyelets at every spoke hole spread the nipple load and make the E 532 forgiving of the high tensions a wide enduro wheel wants.
The bead is DT Swiss's tubeless profile and seals with tape and the wide-base DT valve. Standard nipples, no proprietary washers. The spoke holes are angled to the wheel's dish so an E 532 builds up round with even tension.
How it rides
An E 532 wheel feels wide, planted and hard to hurt. The 30mm bed lets you run a big tire soft for grip without it rolling in corners, and the rim takes square-edged hits that would fold a lighter rim. It is not the lightest enduro rim and it does not pretend to be; DT saved the weight budget for the EX 511. For an enduro bike that gets ridden hard every weekend and has to survive the season, the E 532 is the value pick.
The E 532 is happy under heavier riders and e-bikes thanks to its 130kg system weight rating.

This listing
This is the 29in, 27.5in listing of the E 532, 32h, about 615g, 30mm inside, 21.8mm deep, disc. Pick the size that matches your frame; the profile and construction are the same across the range.
This is the disc-brake E 532: plain sidewalls, no brake track to wear, a touch lighter. It fits any disc-brake bike and it is the version most of our customers now build; the rim-brake version is a separate listing.
Sizes, fit and compatibility
The DT Swiss E 532 Disc Brake Rim comes in 29in, 27.5in and 32h drilling. It is a disc-brake rim. We build the E 532 on DT 350 and 240 hubs, Hope Pro 5, Industry Nine 1/1 and Hydra, Onyx Vesper, Bitex BX 211 and Chris King MTB hubs, usually with Sapim Race, D-Light or Competition spokes and brass nipples; Sapim Strong or Alpine on the drive side for e-bikes.
Tire range on the E 532 is 2.4 to 2.6in. Give the configurator your bike type and weight; it picks a sensible spoke count and lacing pattern, which you can override.
Build a wheel around it
Offered for tandem and e-bike, mountain bike, MTB single-speed and fat bike builds in our Custom Wheel Program. Start with the DT Swiss E 532 Disc Brake Rim and the configurator pins it for you, then checks each choice you make against it.
Spoke head is decided by the hub, not the rim: this rim builds equally well with J-bend or straight-pull spokes, and the configurator only offers the spokes that match the hub you pick.
What DT Swiss says about testing
DT Swiss tests rims as part of complete wheels in its Performance Test Center in Biel. DT Swiss states that test methods and parameters vary with the intended use, the maximum system weight and the ASTM F 2043 riding conditions, and are written into an internal factory standard which "ensures compliance with the current international standards (e.g. ISO 4210)". Published methods include a wheel impact test (with and without tire, monitoring rim buckling, spoke tension and run-out), a drum test in which a wheel loaded to its permissible system weight rolls over obstacles on a steel drum for a set mileage, a lateral stiffness test and a burst pressure test. No impact energies or cycle counts are published.
DT Swiss gives a 24-month defects warranty on all products; first owners of carbon component rims bought after 1 March 2025 receive a lifetime warranty against material and workmanship defects, and under the Fair-Share policy a carbon rim damaged by a riding error is replaced for a fixed contribution for 10 years after purchase. UCI approval is granted to complete wheels: DT Swiss wheels such as the ARC 1100 DICUT 700C 38 SPO (approved 2 May 2024) are on the UCI list, but component rims are not listed individually.

Everything in this section is published by DT Swiss. ProWheelBuilder is the wheel builder, not the tester, and the rim reaches us as the maker ships it.
Building it at ProWheelBuilder
DT makes the E 532; ProWheelBuilder is an independent wheel builder in Georgia, not the manufacturer. Every E 532 wheel we build gets spokes cut from the rim's measured ERD, is tensioned in stages with a gauge, stress-relieved and trued before it ships. Tubeless tape and a valve are fitted on request.
In the configurator you will only see parts that fit this drilling; combinations that are not made are struck through, and the price updates as you pick.
Warranty
DT Swiss's warranty. DT Swiss covers its products against material and manufacturing defects for 24 months from purchase, excluding wear parts such as bearings and tubeless tape. Carbon rims and carbon wheels bought new since 1 January 2020 carry an extended guarantee to the first owner against defects in material and workmanship, and DT Swiss runs a paid crash-replacement scheme on carbon wheels for up to ten years from purchase.
ProWheelBuilder. Wheels we build around this part are covered by our own one-year warranty alongside the maker's. Within the year: broken spokes replaced regardless of cause, and the labor on the wheel - truing, re-tensioning or a complete rebuild - included. A manufacturer-covered rim or hub failure is a claim we make and manage for you; one they will not cover is answered with an eligible replacement at 25% off retail. Shipping each way is yours. Parts you supply yourself fall outside it.

E 532 Disc Brake Rim questions
What tire width suits this rim?
At 30mm inside this is a trail width, sized around 2.1 to 2.4in tires. That is wide enough to stop a modern trail casing rolling under you in a corner without pushing the tread so flat that it wears down the middle.
What is the difference between the E 532 and the EX 511?
Same 30mm profile. The EX 511 is welded and eyeletless for the lightest, strongest joint; the E 532 is sleeved with stainless eyelets at a lower price. Ride feel is very close.
What is the rider weight limit on the E 532?
DT rates the E 532 for a system weight (rider, bike and gear) up to 130kg.
Is the E 532 tubeless?
Yes. It is tubeless-ready with tape and valves, which we fit on request.
Is the E 532 good for e-bikes?
Yes, with e-bike-rated spokes. Tell the configurator it is an e-bike and it picks the spoke gauge and count.
Is it tubeless-ready?
Yes. DT Swiss lists the E 532 Disc Brake Rim as clincher tubeless compatible; we tape and fit a valve when you choose the tubeless option.
Which spoke count should I choose?
It depends on your weight, terrain and the hub, not the rim alone. The configurator recommends a count from your bike type and rider weight, within the drillings this rim is made in.
