DT Swiss Pro Bladded Spoke Holder Red 0.8 1.0mm Wrench
The bladed spoke holder for 0.8 to 1.0mm blades - the thin, deeply aero spokes where wind-up is worst, because a thinner blade twists more easily for the same torque at the nipple.
What it does
Bladed and aero spokes twist as the nipple turns, and a spoke that has been wound up unwinds later - taking the wheel's truth and some of its tension with it. A spoke holder grips the blade so the nipple can turn without the spoke following it.
On a thin-bladed wheel this is not optional equipment. The spoke will turn with the nipple unless something holds it, and the thinner the blade the more it will wind before it resists. Everything you then do on the truing stand is being done to a wheel full of stored twist.
DT Swiss has been making spokes in Biel, Switzerland since the business was carved out of the old Swiss wire works, and the engineering culture shows most in the dull parts: threads that are rolled rather than cut, tolerances that let a part be serviced instead of replaced, and spares that still exist for hubs sold a decade ago.
Fit and compatibility
For bladed spokes measuring 0.8 to 1.0mm across the blade. Thicker blades up to 1.3mm take the black holder instead.

Warranty
DT Swiss's warranty. DT Swiss covers its products against material and manufacturing defects for 24 months from purchase, excluding wear parts such as bearings and tubeless tape. Carbon rims and carbon wheels bought new since 1 January 2020 carry an extended guarantee to the first owner against defects in material and workmanship, and DT Swiss runs a paid crash-replacement scheme on carbon wheels for up to ten years from purchase.

Can I just hold the spoke with pliers?
You can mark and weaken it that way. A blade is thin and the holder is shaped to support it across its width; pliers concentrate force on a line.
