Factory Built Wheels

Complete wheels from the makers we trust

Most of what leaves ProWheelBuilder is a custom build: a rim, a hub and spokes chosen for one rider and laced by hand in Georgia. Pre-built wheels are the other way to get there. These are complete wheels and wheelsets built by the manufacturer, on the manufacturer's own hub, with the manufacturer's warranty behind them, sold here with the same advice you get on a custom build. If you know the wheel you want and it already exists, this is the quickest way to ride it.

We carry four makers: Rolf Prima, ENVE and Industry Nine build in the United States, to order or from stock, and Nextie builds carbon wheelsets to order in Xiamen.

Rolf Prima, Eugene, Oregon

Rolf Prima wheelsets are the paired-spoke wheels: spokes brought to the rim in pairs so the left and right pull cancel, which lets Rolf build a stiff, true wheel with fewer spokes at higher tension. Every set is hand-built in Eugene, Oregon, and covered by Rolf's Certainty program. The range runs from the alloy Vigor and Elan road sets through the carbon Ares and Eos, the Hyalite gravel family, Ralos, Alsea and Black Rock mountain sets, tandem wheels, and FX track wheels. Rolf sells them as pairs, so one listing is a complete wheelset; you choose the axle standards and freehub body on the page.

ENVE, Ogden, Utah

ENVE complete wheels are carbon rims moulded in Ogden, Utah and built onto ENVE's own INNERDRIVE hubs: the SES road line, the G Series and G23 gravel wheels, the AR40 all-road wheel, and the M Series and Foundation mountain wheels. ENVE sells each wheel on its own, so a listing here is one wheel. Pick Front or Rear, the decal colour or hub build, and the freehub body for a rear, and add one of each for a set. Prices and availability on these pages follow ENVE's own stock, refreshed every night.

Industry Nine, Asheville, North Carolina

Industry Nine SYSTEM wheelsets are Convergence carbon and aluminum rims laced with Industry Nine's own machined aluminum SYSTEM spokes onto Hydra2 or Solix hubs, all made in Asheville. The straight-pull, hub-specific alloy spokes are the signature: stiffer than a steel spoke of the same weight, anodized to match the hub, and threaded directly into the flange. The range covers XC through enduro and gravel, in 29in, 27.5in and mullet sizes, and each listing lets you pick a front, a rear or a set, the hub and spoke colours, the axle standard and the driver.

Nextie, Xiamen, China

Nextie carbon wheelsets are Nextie's Premium and Supreme rims built onto Nextie Rollingstar hubs with Sapim steel spokes and black alloy nipples, laced and tensioned by Nextie and shipped to you complete. Pick the rim from the same list we sell rim-only, the finish, the drilling, the driver and the spoke gauge, and choose a front wheel, a rear wheel or a matched pair. Mountain, fat bike, road and gravel packages are all here. Nextie builds to order, so allow a few weeks for the build plus transit; the lead time is on each page.

How ordering works

Choose the wheel, set the axle, freehub and any other options, and check out. We confirm every order against the frame it is going into, so if an axle standard or driver body looks wrong for what you ride we will text or email before it ships rather than after. Rolf builds each set to order and ships it complete; ENVE ships from stock with tape and valves fitted; Industry Nine builds to order in Asheville; Nextie builds to order in Xiamen and ships direct. Lead times and any sold-out notes are shown on each product page.

Complete wheel or custom build?

A factory-built wheel is the maker's answer: a proven combination with one warranty and no decisions beyond fit. A custom build is our answer: you pick the hub, the spoke count and the lacing for your weight and riding, on rims from these and thirty other makers, and we lace and tension it here. Heavier riders, unusual axle standards, dynamo hubs, matching an existing wheel and tandems usually point to custom; a rider who wants a known-good set for a modern disc road, gravel or trail bike is usually well served here. If you are not sure, ask. The person answering is a wheel builder, and we will say honestly which suits you.
