Nextie Gravel Carbon Wheelset

One listing for every Nextie gravel wheelset we offer, in both editions. Supreme is the T800 / T1000 layup with a five-year warranty: the wide-bed SGV 39, 49 and 64, and the all-road Alpha 45G, Alpha 55G and Ocean 45G. Premium is the T700 / T800 layup with a three-year warranty: the road-gravel CGX 35, 45 and 60 and the very wide RGX 45, 55 and 65.

Gravel is where internal width does the most work, and this listing spans 25mm to 38mm, which is the difference between a fast all-road wheel on 32c tires and one built around a 2.1in tire. Nextie laces, tensions and trues the pair in Xiamen and ships it complete.

Design and construction

Start with the edition. Supreme rims use Toray T800 and T1000 fiber on Nextie's tightest molds (within 0.15mm) and are the lightest way to run a big tire: a 39mm SGV with a 32mm bed is 340g. Premium rims mix T700 and high-modulus T800 (within 0.20mm) and are the balanced choice for stiffness, deflection control and price.

Then the depth. 35 to 39mm is the rough-ground depth, compliant and easy in wind; 45 to 49mm is the all-round gravel section; 55 to 65mm holds speed on open gravel roads and fast all-road rides.

The rim model sets the tire. The Alpha G, Ocean and CGX are 25mm internal, the all-road bed for 30 to 45mm tires and the quickest of these rims on pavement. The SGV is 32mm internal for 45 to 55mm tires, the modern gravel proportion. The RGX is 38mm internal, for 50mm-plus tires and the bikes that blur into cross-country mountain biking. The Ocean is a smooth-wall aero profile; the Alpha G is the lightest all-road bed Nextie makes.

Every wheelset here is 24 hole, laced with Sapim Race or bladed CX-Ray spokes and black alloy nipples on the Rollingstar II Road or the lighter Rollingstar III Road hub.

How it rides

Match the bed to the tire first and the depth second. A 32mm bed under a 45mm tire gives a squarer, more supported casing than a road rim does, which is what lets you run gravel pressures without the tire folding in corners. If your gravel bike spends real time on pavement, the 25mm rims keep a 35c tire rounder and faster. If it lives on singletrack, the RGX is the one.

Depth on gravel is more about stiffness and stability than aerodynamics. A 39mm SGV or 35mm CGX is the forgiving choice on rough ground; the 49 and 55mm sections feel more planted at speed; the 64 and 65mm rims are for riders who race fast, open courses.

The hub choice is between the Rollingstar II Road and the lighter Rollingstar III Road, both in 24 hole for this listing.

This listing

This listing is the Nextie gravel wheelset as Nextie sells it, one pair at a time. Pick the Quality of Carbon (Supreme or Premium), the depth band, the rim model, the spokes (Sapim Race or CX-Ray), then the hub (Rollingstar II Road or Rollingstar III Road, 24H), the driver (Shimano Road HG, Shimano Micro Spline Road 12S, SRAM XDR or Campagnolo N3W 13S), the finish (UD Matte or UD Glossy) and the decals (none, outline white, solid black, glossy solid black or solid chromium). Drilling is 24 hole throughout. The page only shows combinations Nextie makes, and the price at the top is always the cheapest complete wheelset that fits what you have picked so far. Prices follow Nextie's own list.

Fit and compatibility

Fitment is 700c, 12x100mm front and 12x142mm rear thru-axle, centerlock disc, with Shimano Road HG, Shimano Micro Spline Road 12S, SRAM XDR or Campagnolo N3W freehub bodies. Every rim here is tubeless-ready; tape and valves are not included.

Rim finish is UD Matte or UD Glossy, with optional decals. Spokes are Sapim with black alloy nipples, and the hub is black.

Ordering it from ProWheelBuilder

Nextie builds each wheelset to order in Xiamen, so allow roughly two weeks for the build plus transit. ProWheelBuilder is an independent wheel builder in Georgia and a Nextie dealer. We do not manufacture these wheels; Nextie does, and the five-year Supreme or three-year Premium warranty is theirs.

We also sell every one of these rims on its own and lace it here to any hub, spoke count and pattern you like, in 28 or 32 hole as well as 24. That is the route for a dynamo front wheel, a wheel matched to one you already own, or a rider who wants a higher spoke count than the factory build offers.

Warranty

Manufacturer's warranty. Nextie warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship. The duration, conditions and claim process are set by Nextie and can change without notice, so ask us and we will confirm the current terms before you buy.

ProWheelBuilder. These wheels were built at the factory, not on our bench, so it is the maker's warranty above that stands behind them - our own one-year wheel warranty covers wheels we lace ourselves. If you do need to claim, we will deal with the manufacturer for you.

Full terms are on our Policies & Warranty page.
