White Industries ENO Rear ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub

The White Industries ENO is the single-speed hub with a trick: the eccentric version has its axle offset in the shell, so rotating the hub in the dropouts tensions the chain, which lets you run a single speed on a frame with vertical dropouts and no tensioner. It also comes in a standard-axle fixed/free version and a 6-bolt disc version, all machined from 6061 aluminum in Petaluma, California, with Enduro sealed cartridge bearings, White Industries' freewheel or fixed threading, and anodized colors. This page covers the White Industries ENO Rear ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub.

The ENO comes from us only as a finished wheel: pick the rim, spokes and nipples, and we lace, tension and true it by hand in Georgia before it ships.

Design and construction

The trick in the ENO is geometric: the eccentric version carries its axle offset in the shell, so rotating the hub in the dropouts takes up chain slack. That is what lets a single speed run on a frame with vertical dropouts and no tensioner at all. It is machined from 6061 in Petaluma on Enduro sealed cartridge bearings, and also comes as a standard-axle fixed/free hub and a 6-bolt disc version.

White Industries is open that it is not the biggest manufacturer in cycling and has no interest in being. A hub like this one, which solves a narrow problem properly instead of a broad one approximately, is what a small shop is for.

How it rides

An ENO makes a single-speed wheel that simply works. The eccentric version solves the chain-tension problem on a converted road or mountain frame, the bearings roll for years, and the hub takes a White Industries freewheel or a fixed cog and lockring. It is the hub we suggest for single-speed conversions, fixed-gear road bikes and single-speed mountain bikes with vertical dropouts.

About this listing

What sets this listing apart from the other ENO versions: 6-bolt rotor mount, Eccentric Bolt On 10x135mm, Straight Bolt On 10x135mm, Thru Axle 12x142mm, 28h, 32h, 36h drilling, about 325g, in polished, black. Pick the one that matches your frame and rotor and the rest of the hub is identical.

Six-bolt is the original disc mount and still the most universal: any ISO 6-bolt rotor from any brand bolts straight on, rotors are cheap and easy to find anywhere, and the six-bolt flange is a robust, simple interface that has been on mountain bikes for twenty-five years. Centerlock rotors do not fit it.

Sizes, fit and compatibility

The White Industries ENO Rear ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub comes in the drillings listed on this page with the axle and brake options shown in the configurator: eccentric or standard axle, 6-bolt disc or rim brake, in 120, 130 and 135mm spacing. J-bend spokes in any gauge; we build most ENO wheels with DT Champion or Sapim Race spokes and brass nipples.

It pairs naturally with the H Plus Son Archetype and TB14, Velocity Deep V and Chukker, Stan's Crest and any rim in the catalog that matches its drilling. Pick single speed or fixed-gear as your bike type in the configurator and it recommends a spoke count and lacing pattern.

Testing, standards and warranty at White Industries

White Industries states that every hub is CNC-machined, hand-assembled, and inspected in its Petaluma, California facility, keeping “machining, assembly, quality control, and operations under one roof”. Founded in 1978 with about 20 employees, the company says it has been designing, machining, assembling, and testing components in Northern California for more than four decades in a 100% solar-powered shop using domestically sourced raw materials. It publishes no load, fatigue, or salt-spray test figures.

The Warranty & Returns page states a limited five-year warranty to the original owner, excluding normal wear, misuse, improper installation, and labor; proof of purchase is required and return shipping is covered within 90 days of purchase. Older instruction pages still cite one year, with bearings 60 days.

CLD and T11 rear hubs use a 6Al-4V titanium freehub body, 3 heat-treated steel pawls with stainless steel leaf springs, and 48-tooth (7.5-degree) engagement on a heat-treated black-oxide 4130 steel axle. Freehub bodies are interchangeable; service instructions say pawl pockets get light oil or dry lube, never grease.

White Industries publishes those results; ProWheelBuilder builds the hub into a wheel and does not test it in a lab.

Building it at ProWheelBuilder

White Industries makes the ENO; ProWheelBuilder is an independent custom wheel builder in Georgia and not the manufacturer. We measure the rim before we cut a spoke, bring the wheel up in three or four rounds with a gauge, stress-relieve it between rounds and true it last, then tape it and fit a valve if you want it tubeless.

Only compatible hubs and spokes appear in the configurator, impossible combinations are struck through rather than hidden, and the price is live.

Warranty

Manufacturer's warranty. White Industries warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship. The duration, conditions and claim process are set by White Industries and can change without notice, so ask us and we will confirm the current terms before you buy.

ProWheelBuilder. Any wheel we build on this part carries ProWheelBuilder's one-year warranty in addition to the manufacturer's. Broken spokes are replaced for a year whatever the cause, and all wheel-side labor is included - truing, re-tensioning, rebuilding. Where the maker covers a failed rim or hub we handle that claim for you; where they decline, an eligible replacement comes at 25% off current retail. The customer covers shipping in both directions. Components supplied by the customer are not covered.

Full terms are on our Policies & Warranty page.

ENO Rear ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub questions

Will my rotors fit this hub?

This is the 6-bolt version: any ISO 6-bolt rotor bolts straight on with six T25 bolts, which is still the most common and the easiest rotor to replace anywhere. Centerlock rotors do not fit it - for those, take the centerlock version of the same hub, listed separately.

What does eccentric mean on the ENO?

The axle is offset in the hub shell, so turning the hub in the dropouts changes the chain tension. It lets you run a single speed on vertical dropouts with no tensioner.

Fixed or free?

The ENO takes a White Industries freewheel on one side and a fixed cog with lockring on the other on the fixed/free version; the disc version is freewheel only.

Which spacing?

120mm for track frames, 130mm for road, 135mm for mountain; selectable in the configurator.

Is the ENO rebuildable?

Yes. Like every White Industries hub, every part is replaceable and spares are stocked for decades.

Which axle spacing does it fit?

Eccentric Bolt On 10x135mm Rear or Straight Bolt On 10x135mm Rear or Thru Axle 12x142mm Rear. Measure between the inside faces of your dropouts if you are unsure, or text us.

Does it need special spokes?

No. It takes standard J-bend spokes, which the configurator offers in every gauge and finish we stock.
