Hope Pro 5 Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub
The Hope Pro 5 is the current version of the hub Hope has been machining in Barnoldswick, England for decades, and it is one of the most complete mountain and gravel hubs made. This page covers the Hope Pro 5 Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub.
The Pro 5 is sold here only inside a wheel we build. Choose the rim, spokes and nipples in the configurator and the finished wheel ships from Georgia laced, tensioned and trued by hand.
Design and construction
The shell is machined from aluminum bar in Barnoldswick with J-bend flanges and anodized in Hope's colors: black, silver, red, blue, orange and purple among them.
Because the front Pro 5 has no freehub, it is the hub that asks for the least: a spin of the axle to check the bearings once a season and nothing else. The flanges, bearings and seals are the same as the rear's, the axle converts between the front standards with end caps, and the rotor mounts the same way. Choose it to match a rear of the same model, or on its own for a fork that needs a new front wheel.
How it rides
The bearings roll for years, the seals keep British-grade mud out, and the hub takes trail, enduro, downhill and e-bike use; Hope rates the Pro 5 for e-MTBs.
For road and gravel Hope makes the RS4; for fat bikes the Fatsno.
On the road or the trail the front hub's job is to disappear: spin freely, keep water out, and hold the flanges still so the wheel tracks where you point it. The front Pro 5 does that with the same bearings and seals as the rear and none of the rear's complexity, and because a front wheel carries less load and no torque it stays true longer than the rear on the same rim. When the rear finally needs a look, the front usually does not.

This version
This version is the 6-bolt hub in QR 5x100mm, Thru Axle 9x100mm, Thru Axle 12x100mm, Thru Axle 15x100mm and more, drilled for 24h, 28h, 32h, 36h, about 180g, in black, blue, orange, purple, red, silver, smoke. Those are the only things that differ between the versions of the Pro 5; the shell, bearings and seals are the same.
This is the 6-bolt Pro 5: the rotor bolts to a flange with six T25 bolts, which is the mount most mountain and gravel rotors still use and the easiest to find a rotor for on the road. If you run centerlock rotors, choose the centerlock version of the same hub instead.
Sizes, fit and compatibility
J-bend spokes in any gauge; we build most Pro 5 wheels with Sapim Race, D-Light or CX-Sprint spokes or DT Competition and brass nipples.
It pairs naturally with DT Swiss, Stan's, WTB, Race Face, Reserve, We Are One, Nox and ENVE rims that match its drilling. The configurator recommends spoke count and lacing from your bike type and weight.
Build it into a wheel
This hub is live in our Custom Wheel Program for gravel and road disc, track and road single-speed, mountain bike, MTB single-speed and fat bike builds. Start a build with the Hope Pro 5 Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub and the configurator opens with this exact hub pinned at the top of the Hope list — you choose the rest of the parts and it validates every combination as you go.
How Hope tests its hubs
Hope Technology states that since 1989 it has been "designing, testing and manufacturing virtually all products in-house at the factory in Barnoldswick, United Kingdom", and that "Virtually everything we do is developed, prototyped, machined, anodized and assembled on site." Pro 5 hub shells are "Machined from forged 2014 T6 Aluminum billet" with "Sealed stainless Steel cartridge bearings throughout", and every hub is "Fully serviceable and rebuildable with simple tools." Hope's About page cites almost 100 staff and 55 CNC machines; a June 2025 factory report counted 80 CNC machines and about 140 employees and stated "Random components are plucked from production and tested in the company's in-house fatigue and destructive testing facilities." A Renishaw case study quotes Hope's operations manager: "We take components off the line on a regular basis for sample measurement on the CMM", with output of 70,000 wheel hubs a year. Hope publishes no ISO 4210 or salt-spray figures.
Warranty and service: "Hope Technology components (excluding the frame and bearings) are warrantied for a period of 2 years from purchase, to the original customer"; improper use, accidental damage or modification invalidates it. Hope states "Each and every part is replaceable - no matter how small" and still holds spares for everything it has made.

Building it at ProWheelBuilder
Hope makes the Pro 5 in Barnoldswick, England; ProWheelBuilder is an independent custom wheel builder in Georgia and not the manufacturer. Spokes are cut from the ERD we measure on the actual rim, the wheel comes up in stages on a tensiometer, and it is stress-relieved and trued before it goes in the box; tape and a valve go on if you ask.
The configurator filters to what fits, crosses out what is not made, and prices the build as you go.
Warranty
Manufacturer's warranty. Hope warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship. The duration, conditions and claim process are set by Hope and can change without notice, so ask us and we will confirm the current terms before you buy.
ProWheelBuilder. Wheels we build around this part are covered by our own one-year warranty alongside the maker's. Within the year: broken spokes replaced regardless of cause, and the labor on the wheel - truing, re-tensioning or a complete rebuild - included. A manufacturer-covered rim or hub failure is a claim we make and manage for you; one they will not cover is answered with an eligible replacement at 25% off retail. Shipping each way is yours. Parts you supply yourself fall outside it.
Full terms are on our Policies & Warranty page.
Pro 5 Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub questions
Will my rotors fit this hub?
This is the 6-bolt version: any ISO 6-bolt rotor bolts straight on with six T25 bolts, which is still the most common and the easiest rotor to replace anywhere. Centerlock rotors do not fit it - for those, take the centerlock version of the same hub, listed separately.
Is the Pro 5 e-bike rated?
Yes. Hope rates the Pro 5 for e-MTB use; tell the configurator it is an e-bike and it picks the spokes.
Is ProWheelBuilder the manufacturer of the Hope Pro 5 Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub?
We are not. Hope manufactures the hub; ProWheelBuilder's part is the wheel: measuring, lacing, tensioning and truing it here in Georgia.
Which axle spacing does it fit?
QR 5x100mm Front or Thru Axle 9x100mm Front or Thru Axle 12x100mm Front or Thru Axle 15x100mm Front or Thru Axle 15x110mm Boost Front or Thru Axle 20x110mm Boost Front or Thru Axle 20x110mm Front. Measure between the inside faces of your dropouts if you are unsure, or text us.
Does it need special spokes?
No. It takes standard J-bend spokes, which the configurator offers in every gauge and finish we stock.
How long will the wheel take?
Build time comes down to parts availability rather than bench time. The estimated ship date is shown in the configurator before you check out.
