Nextie Xiphias carbon wheelset
A complete wheelset built around the Xiphias rim. Nextie laces a pair of Xiphias rims to its own Rollingstar II Fatbike hubs with Sapim spokes and black alloy nipples, in 7 sizes (55-105mm wide), tensions and trues both wheels in its Xiamen factory and ships the pair complete.

Building your pair
The Nextie Xiphias wheelset is sold as a matched front and rear pair: both wheels use the same rim size and wheel diameter.

The rim
The Xiphias is the lightest fat-bike rim Nextie makes: a single-wall carbon rim in eight widths, from a 55mm 27.5+ crossover to a 120mm float rim, from 425 to 600 grams. On a fat bike, where the rim is the heaviest part of the wheel, that is where carbon saves the most.
There is no UCI approval for fat-bike wheels; the approvals listed on the rim page are Nextie's road and gravel certificates, from the same factory and test lab. Nextie rates these rims for a maximum system weight of 134 to 185 kg (rider plus bike and gear). Hubs, spokes and drive
Hub choices: Nextie Rollingstar II Fatbike 15x150 / 12x197, 36-tooth engagement, 6-bolt rotor mount. The hub sets the drilling, 32H, and both wheels use the same set.
Spokes are Sapim: the round Race (2.0/1.8mm double-butted) for durability, or the bladed CX-Ray for less weight and drag, both with black alloy nipples. Freehub bodies: Shimano MTB (HG), SRAM XD, Micro Spline 12S.
Finish: matte or glossy carbon. Decals: None, Outline White, Solid White, Solid Black, Glossy Solid Black, Solid Sunset, Solid Sky Blue, Solid Lilac, Solid Chromium.

Ordering and lead time
Nextie builds each wheelset to order in Xiamen, so allow roughly two weeks for the build plus transit. The price at the top of the page is the complete wheelset as configured. Warranty
Manufacturer's warranty. Nextie warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship. The duration, conditions and claim process are set by Nextie and can change without notice, so ask us and we will confirm the current terms before you buy.

Nextie Xiphias wheelset questions
What does single-wall mean on a fat rim?
The Xiphias has one wall between the tire bed and the spoke bed instead of the two of a box-section rim. It saves a lot of weight on a rim this wide; the double-wall Black Eagle, Wild Dragon and Drunken Rhinoceros are stiffer and rated for more weight.
Which Xiphias width should I choose?
Match it to your tire. Nextie's tire ranges are in the table: roughly 55mm for 2.8 to 3.8in, 80 to 85mm for 3.5 to 5in, and 95mm and wider for 4.2in tires and up.
Can I buy one Xiphias wheel on its own?
Not from this page: the factory-built wheelset is sold as a pair. A single front or rear wheel on this rim can be built in the Custom Wheel Program.

The wheelset is built on the Rollingstar II hub listed above, matched to the frame spacing.
