Bitex BX 211 Rear ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub
The Bitex BX 211 is the six-bolt disc sibling of the BX 212, and for a lot of riders the BX 211 is the better buy: six-bolt rotors are cheaper and more widely available, and the flange itself is a robust mount that has been on mountain bikes for twenty-five years. Same machined aluminum hubshell, same sealed cartridge bearings, same six-pawl freehub. Bitex makes the BX 211 in Taiwan, and Bitex builds hubs for half the wheel brands you know.
We use the Bitex BX 211 Rear ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub on budget-conscious gravel, cross-country and hardtail builds where the customer wants the money to go into the rim. The BX 211 has been a reliable hub for us, and it is one of the lightest six-bolt hubs at its price.
The Bitex BX 211 is sold here only inside a wheel we build. Choose the rim, spokes and nipples in the configurator and the finished BX 211 wheel ships from Georgia laced, tensioned and trued.
Design and construction
The BX 211 hubshell is machined from aluminum bar with J-bend flanges and an ISO six-bolt rotor mount. Bearings are sealed cartridge units in common sizes, so replacement years down the line is a ten-minute job with a bearing press. The rear freehub carries six pawls on a machined ratchet ring for prompt engagement, and Bitex freehub bodies interchange between Shimano HG, SRAM XD and Micro Spline.
End caps swap to convert the BX 211 between axle standards; the axle and driver options for the hub on this page are listed in the configurator. Bitex keeps the flange spacing wide for the rotor side, which is what gives a BX 211 wheel its lateral stiffness.
How it rides
Engagement on the Bitex BX 211 is quick enough for technical climbing without the drag or noise of a super-high-count freehub, and the bearings spin cleanly out of the box. The BX 211 is a quiet, undramatic hub that does its job, which is what most of us actually want under a gravel or trail wheel.
The BX 211 is not a downhill or e-bike hub, and heavy riders on rough terrain should look at a stouter option. For road disc, gravel, cross-country and everyday trail riding the Bitex BX 211 is excellent value.

About this listing
What sets this listing apart from the other BX 211 versions: 6-bolt rotor mount, Qrx141mm Boost, Thru Axle 12x148mm Boost, Thru Axle 12x148mm Boost STEEL, 24h, 28h, 32h drilling, about 284g, in black, blue, lime green, silver. Pick the one that matches your frame and rotor and the rest of the hub is identical.
Six-bolt is the original disc mount and still the most universal: any ISO 6-bolt rotor from any brand bolts straight on, rotors are cheap and easy to find anywhere, and the six-bolt flange is a robust, simple interface that has been on mountain bikes for twenty-five years. Centerlock rotors do not fit it.
Sizes, fit and compatibility
The Bitex BX 211 Rear ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub comes in the drillings listed on this page, in the axle and driver options shown in the configurator. Six-bolt rotors. The BX 211 takes J-bend spokes in any gauge; Sapim Race or Competition with brass nipples is our usual recommendation on a BX 211.
Good rim matches for the Bitex BX 211: Stan's Crest and Arch, WTB KOM Tough, DT Swiss M 462 and XM 421, Velocity Blunt, KinLin TL, Race Face AR.

Testing, standards and warranty at Bitex
Bitex Industrial Co., Ltd. is a hub manufacturer in Taichung, Taiwan. Its 2023 catalog is titled "HUB FACTORY / MADE IN TAIWAN" and marks "100 Years 1923 ~ 2023", tracing the business from the Valisum Bike Shop (1923) to its renaming as Bitex Industrial Co., Ltd.. Bitex states its hubs use aluminum shells (the BX305 road hubs are listed as "Aluminum 7075"), and each catalog page lists the exact cartridge bearings fitted, for example "2 (6803*2)" in a gravel front hub and "4 (Hub 6902*2 / Freehub 6802+6902)" in the matching rear. Bitex's UK distributor states standard fitment is TPI bearings with an orange contact seal outboard and a black non-contact seal inboard.
Bitex states the six-pawl freehub uses "Two sets of three pawls - six in total" for a "reduction in distance between points of engagement by 50%", giving 54HD (27T) engagement on MTB bodies and 48HD (24T) on road bodies. The Anti-Bite System adds "three small, hardened stainless splines" to alloy Shimano bodies to stop cassette gouging. Catalog freehub weights run 65g to 80g (±5g) for aluminum Shimano 11s bodies, 106g to 111g for titanium and 127g to 160g for steel; e-bike rears such as the BX215R use steel freehub bodies and 6903-size shell bearings.

Everything in this section is published by Bitex. ProWheelBuilder is the wheel builder, not the tester, and the hub reaches us as the maker ships it.
Building it at ProWheelBuilder
Bitex makes the BX 211; ProWheelBuilder is an independent custom wheel builder in Georgia, not the manufacturer. We measure the rim before we cut a spoke, bring the wheel up in three or four rounds with a gauge, stress-relieve it between rounds and true it last, then tape it and fit a valve if you want it tubeless.
In the configurator only rims and spokes that fit the drilling appear, combinations that are not made are struck through, and the price updates live.
Warranty
Manufacturer's warranty. Bitex warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship. The duration, conditions and claim process are set by Bitex and can change without notice, so ask us and we will confirm the current terms before you buy.
ProWheelBuilder. Lace this into a wheel here and the finished wheel gets our own one-year warranty as well as the maker's. For twelve months we replace broken spokes however they broke, and the work on the wheel is on us - truing, re-tensioning, a rebuild where it is needed. If the rim or hub is covered by its manufacturer we put the claim in and chase it; if it is not, we supply an eligible replacement rim or hub at 25% off the current retail price. Carriage both ways is the customer's, and this does not cover wheels built from parts you send in.
Full terms are on our Policies & Warranty page.
BX 211 Rear ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub questions
Will my rotors fit this hub?
This is the 6-bolt version: any ISO 6-bolt rotor bolts straight on with six T25 bolts, which is still the most common and the easiest rotor to replace anywhere. Centerlock rotors do not fit it - for those, take the centerlock version of the same hub, listed separately.
Six-bolt or centerlock?
Six-bolt rotors are cheaper and universal; centerlock is lighter and quicker to swap. The BX 211 is six-bolt; the Bitex BX 212 is the centerlock version of the same hub.
Which freehub bodies fit the BX 211?
Shimano HG, SRAM XD and Shimano Micro Spline, selectable in the configurator for the rear BX 211.
Can I convert the BX 211 axle later?
Yes, with Bitex end caps. Tell us your frame's standard and we fit the right caps before the wheel ships.
Is the BX 211 e-bike rated?
No. For e-bikes choose a hub with a full-contact or steel-reinforced freehub such as a 350 or Hope Pro 5.
Which axle spacing does it fit?
Qrx141mm Boost Rear or Thru Axle 12x148mm Boost Rear or Thru Axle 12x148mm Boost STEEL Rear. Measure between the inside faces of your dropouts if you are unsure, or text us.
Does it need special spokes?
No. It takes standard J-bend spokes, which the configurator offers in every gauge and finish we stock.
