Bitex MTF Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub
The Bitex MTF is the front half of Bitex's classic mountain-bike disc hubset, and it is one of the lightest 6-bolt front hubs at its price. Bitex builds hubs for a lot of wheel brands who put their own name on the box, and the MTF is the plain version: a machined aluminum shell with J-bend flanges, sealed cartridge bearings, an ISO 6-bolt rotor mount and end caps for quick release and 15mm thru-axle in standard or Boost spacing. It is the front hub we suggest for a cross-country, trail or gravel wheel when the customer would rather spend on the rim. This page covers the Bitex MTF Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub.
The MTF is built to order here. Choose the rim, spokes and nipples in the configurator; the wheel leaves Georgia laced, tensioned and trued.
Design and construction
A front hub is two bearings, an axle and a pair of flanges, and the MTF does each properly: sealed cartridge bearings in common sizes that any shop can replace, a hollow alloy axle with swappable end caps, and flanges spaced wide for the rotor side so the wheel is laterally stiff. The shell is machined from aluminum and anodized black. Bitex pairs it with the MTR rear hub, and the FB MTF is the fat-bike version.
J-bend flanges in 28 and 32 hole, 6-bolt rotor mount, quick release or 15 x 100 and 15 x 110 Boost thru-axle with end caps.
Because the front MTF has no freehub, it is the hub that asks for the least: a spin of the axle to check the bearings once a season and nothing else. The flanges, bearings and seals are the same as the rear's, the axle converts between the front standards with end caps, and the rotor mounts the same way. Choose it to match a rear of the same model, or on its own for a fork that needs a new front wheel.
How it rides
There is nothing to go wrong in a front hub except the bearings, and the MTF's are sealed and cheap to replace. It builds into a stiff front wheel on a Stan's, WTB, DT Swiss or KinLin rim, and it is the front hub we build most on budget-conscious trail and gravel wheels.
A front wheel is where you feel a hub least and a build most. With no drive torque to carry, the front MTF can be laced two-cross or even radial on the non-rotor side on a rim-brake bike, which makes a lighter, more direct-feeling wheel; on a disc bike we lace both sides crossed so the rotor's braking torque has spokes to pull against. Either way the front wheel is the one that steers, and a stiff, true front wheel is most of what makes a bike feel precise.

Which version this is
Version notes. 6-bolt rotor mount, QR 5x100mm, Thru Axle 9x100mm, Thru Axle 12x100mm, Thru Axle 15x100mm and more, 24h, 28h, 32h, about 182g, in black, blue, lime green, red, silver. If your frame or fork uses a different standard, the other versions of the MTF on this site cover it.
Six-bolt is the original disc mount and still the most universal: any ISO 6-bolt rotor from any brand bolts straight on, rotors are cheap and easy to find anywhere, and the six-bolt flange is a robust, simple interface that has been on mountain bikes for twenty-five years. Centerlock rotors do not fit it.
Sizes, fit and compatibility
The Bitex MTF Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub comes in the drillings listed on this page with the axle options shown in the configurator. J-bend spokes in any gauge; we build most MTF wheels with Sapim Race or DT Competition spokes and brass nipples.
It pairs naturally with the Bitex MTR rear, and with Stan's Crest and Arch, WTB KOM, DT Swiss M 462 and XM 421, KinLin TL and Velocity Blunt rims that match its drilling. Tell the configurator your bike type and weight and it suggests a spoke count and lacing pattern to suit.

Offered for gravel and road disc, track and road single-speed, touring, tandem and e-bike, mountain bike and MTB single-speed builds in our Custom Wheel Program. Start with the Bitex Mtf Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub and the configurator pins it for you, then checks each choice you make against it.

Bitex publishes those results; ProWheelBuilder builds the hub into a wheel and does not test it in a lab.
Building it at ProWheelBuilder
Bitex makes the MTF in Taiwan; ProWheelBuilder is an independent custom wheel builder in Georgia and not the manufacturer. The build is the same every time: measured ERD, spokes cut to the half millimeter, staged tensioning with a gauge, stress relief, a final true, and tubeless tape and a valve on request.
The configurator shows only rims and spokes that fit the MTF drilling, strikes through combinations that are not made, and prices the wheel live.
Warranty
Manufacturer's warranty. Bitex warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship. The duration, conditions and claim process are set by Bitex and can change without notice, so ask us and we will confirm the current terms before you buy.
ProWheelBuilder. Lace this into a wheel here and the finished wheel gets our own one-year warranty as well as the maker's. For twelve months we replace broken spokes however they broke, and the work on the wheel is on us - truing, re-tensioning, a rebuild where it is needed. If the rim or hub is covered by its manufacturer we put the claim in and chase it; if it is not, we supply an eligible replacement rim or hub at 25% off the current retail price. Carriage both ways is the customer's, and this does not cover wheels built from parts you send in.
Full terms are on our Policies & Warranty page.
MTF Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub questions
Will my rotors fit this hub?
This is the 6-bolt version: any ISO 6-bolt rotor bolts straight on with six T25 bolts, which is still the most common and the easiest rotor to replace anywhere. Centerlock rotors do not fit it - for those, take the centerlock version of the same hub, listed separately.
MTF or BX 211?
Both are Bitex 6-bolt disc fronts. The MTF is the classic, lighter design; the BX 211 is the newer hub with a slightly stouter shell. Either builds a good front wheel.
Which axle standards fit the MTF?
Quick release, 15 x 100 and 15 x 110 Boost with end caps, selectable in the configurator.
What bearings does the MTF use?
Sealed cartridge bearings in common sizes, replaceable at any shop.
Who is Bitex?
A Taiwanese hub maker that supplies many wheel brands; the MTF sold under its own name is the same hub without the brand markup.
Is ProWheelBuilder the manufacturer of the Bitex MTF Front ISO 6 Bolt Disc Hub?
We are not. Bitex manufactures the hub; ProWheelBuilder's part is the wheel: measuring, lacing, tensioning and truing it here in Georgia.
Which axle spacing does it fit?
QR 5x100mm Front or Thru Axle 9x100mm Front or Thru Axle 12x100mm Front or Thru Axle 15x100mm Front or Thru Axle 20x110mm Front. Measure between the inside faces of your dropouts if you are unsure, or text us.
