DT Swiss RWS Titanium Road Rear Skewer
The DT Swiss rear road skewer, in titanium. It closes by threading rather than by a cam flipping over center, which changes two things: the clamping force is set by how far you thread it rather than by how someone adjusted the nut, and the lever can then be folded to any position you like.
What it does
A threaded closure changes what the lever means. On a cam skewer the lever position is the clamp; on an RWS you tighten first and position afterwards, so the lever can sit clear of a rotor, a fork leg or a rack instead of wherever the cam happened to finish.
The other thing it quietly fixes is the half-closed skewer. A cam that has been pushed rather than folded can look shut and hold almost nothing; a thread either runs up tight or it is visibly still turning.
DT Swiss is a Swiss company whose reputation was built on spokes and then extended to hubs, and its components share one habit - they are designed to be opened. That is why there is a catalog of service tools at all; a sealed part would not need one.
Fit and compatibility
Sized for a 130mm rear road hub. If the bike has been through a fork or frame change, measure rather than assume - this is the sort of part that is almost right and therefore useless.

Warranty
DT Swiss's warranty. DT Swiss covers its products against material and manufacturing defects for 24 months from purchase, excluding wear parts such as bearings and tubeless tape. Carbon rims and carbon wheels bought new since 1 January 2020 carry an extended guarantee to the first owner against defects in material and workmanship, and DT Swiss runs a paid crash-replacement scheme on carbon wheels for up to ten years from purchase.
